California Sound Experiment is four piece alternative rock band based in Los Angeles. Founded by songwriter Matt Diff, the group uses an ever expanding cast of indie rock talent to create a captivating and diverse soundscape to support their sonic vision.

Their debut EP, "Cal Sound” is a five set featuring a stellar cast of musicians pulled from greater Los Angeles. Co-produced by Diff and James McAlister (known for his work with Sufjan Stevens), the songs were recorded in a dilapidated garage in L.A., mixed in Nashville, and mastered in Detroit.

The EP features McAlister on drums, Tyler Chester on bass, Josh Murty on guitar, and Diff on vocals and guitar.

Additional support provided by Zac Rae on piano (Long View). Backing vocals by Max, Tyler and Colton of Wilderado (Run Free), Paris Carney and Natalie Nicoles (Let Go), Sharlotte Gibson (Love & a .45), and Mischa Mandel and Danny Donnelly (Long View).
